The ice giant

 We are learning to write an information report about a topic related to space.

By Friday 5 June you need to have written and edited your information report on a topic related to space so that it is ready to be published.

Here are some ideas to write

You need to attend one workshop with the teacher on an area that you feel you need help with for your writing. Here is the timetable where you will make your bookings. There is space for seven people in each workshop so book in quickly to make sure there is space!

Voyager 2 was the first spacecraft to visit Uranus.
More detail:
Uranus  the first planet discovered in modern times by William Herschel.
More detail: William Herschel first thought Uranus was a star or comet.
Main idea:Moons for Uranus
Oberon and titania is Uranus largest moon.
More detail:  Did you know Uranus has 27 moons.
More detail: Titania is half the size of earth’s moon.

  • Use subheadings for each new paragraph to tell the reader what it is about

  • Check that I am writing in the present tense (for example: the sun is a ball of fire; the stars are shooting through the sky)

  • Use a range of punctuation correctly.    (.,?!)

Editing
  • Identify and correct most spelling errors.

  • Improve my writing so that it is more enjoyable/informative for the reader.

Introduction

Uranus is a really cold planet.And its like giant ice ball.

Uranus Facts
Did you know Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun.Also Uranus has rings like Saturn but Uranus ring are thin in space so you can’t see it only with a telescope but sometimes you still can’t see it.Uranus is know as the ice giant.Also Uranus Is known with 13 rings.


Discovering Uranus
Voyager 2 was the first spacecraft to visit Uranus.Uranus was the first planet to be discovered in modern times by William Herschel.William Herschel First thought Uranus was a comet or a star.William Herschel discovered Uranus in march 13th 1781.Uranus was known well for tilting on its side but an asteroid crashed into Uranus and got pushed over.


Moons for Uranus
Oberon and titania is Uranus largest moon.Did you know Uranus has 27 moons.Titania is half the size of earth’s moon.Oberon,titania,Miranda,Ariel & Umbriel is the named moons for Uranus.Oberon,titania,Miranda,Ariel & Umbriel is the main moon.
